Faded Red Men in the NY 7s

Alumni and undergrads combined will be competing against 32 other teams in the social division of the New York Rugby Club's annual Thanksgiving 7's tournament. It will take place on Saturday, Nov. 28th and all matches are played in NYC on Ward's Island.

We are guaranteed 3 games, and have played up to 5 or 6 in the past, so everyone will get time on the pitch. They will have equipment and food tents set up, but please organize a kit beforehand (our first match can be as early as 8am).

After we collect our hardware at the end of the day, we will meet up at the Ginger Man bar (36th btwn 5th and Madison) for some beers and to get the night rolling.

The NEW YORK 7s TOURNAMENT is the largest and longest running sevens tournament in the United States. The tournament has been held on the Saturday following Thanksgiving since 1959 and traditionally marks the end of the Fall rugby season in the New York Metropolitan area. They had 106 teams in 2008 and hope to grow even more in 2009.
